Her Campus is a new-media brand for college women, and Her Campus content is written by college journalists – with about 7,000 contributors nationwide. HerCampus.com features content in style, beauty, health, love, life, career, entertainment, news, LGBTQ+, and life after college.
I became involved with Her Campus during my time at UCSC, when I started as a staff writer for UCSC’s Her Campus Chapter. As a staff writer, I wrote and published blog posts on the Her Campus UCSC Chapter website, and managed our Twitter account. Later, when I was appointed Campus Correspondent, I continued to manage social media accounts such as Facebook, and I also started our own Instagram account with exclusive content relating to the UCSC community. With the collaboration of the Her Campus team and myself, we were able to increase our Twitter following by about 200+ followers, our Instagram following by 250+, and our Facebook likes by about 100. My duties as campus correspondent also consisted of assigning, editing, and publishing content on our website and across all social media platforms. I was also in charge of holding bi-weekly meetings with the rest of our staff members.
